The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Grant Programs Directorate is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program. The purpose of AFG is to enhance through financial assistance the safety of the public and firefighters regarding fire and fire-related hazards. FEMA strives to provide clear guidance and application tools to assist applicants.
